"EXPLOSION AT WABUSKA"
A fire and explosion occurred at Wabuska Saturday night, in which two men were badly injured and a half a dozen cars destroyed. A car of crude oil was being emptied into a tank and a yard man who had a lighted torch in his hand leaned over to see how full the tank was. The torch ignited the oil and in a few moments a roaring fire was in progress. The trainmen uncoupled the cars and ran them down the track but not far enough to prevent the flames from reaching two cars of gasoline. A terrific explosion resulted and oil and gasoline were scattered in all directions, six cars with their contents being destroyed. -- Virginia Enterprise.
