“DEATH OF HARRY MANON”
Mr. Harry Manon, deputy constable of Beatty, shot at Gold Center by Crouch, is at a hospital in Goldfield, making a brave fight for his life. The bullet in the back has not yet been located, and may prove fatal. Crouch, who did the shooting has not yet been caught.
Later – Harry Manon died at Goldfield hospital Wednesday, at 7 a.m.

Bullfrog Miner, May 6, 1905
“REWARD OFFERED.”
The Tonopah Sun says: District Attorney Pittman yesterday received word from Governor Sparks that he has offered a reward of $500 for the apprehension of Bandit Crouch, who shot Deputy Sheriff Harry Mannon to death while the latter was attempting to arrest him.
Mr. Pitman [sic] says he will ask the county commisssioners [sic] of Nye to increase the reward by $300.
