“LUCKY BOY LAWSUIT”
The Southern Development Company has brought suit to quiet title to a large area of ground in Esmeralda county, and including the Lucky Boy mining ground. The plaintiff claims to have been the owner of the ground since 1881, and to have government patent for all of it. In 1908 the lands were found to be mineral-bearing, and since then various parties have made mineral locations on it. It is alleged that the determination of controversy depends upon the interpretation of certain acts of Congress and of land office regulations. Complainant asks for an injunction to prevent the defendant, I.J. Enderson, from entering on or working the land in dispute. Various others are interested as well as Enderson.

Inyo Register, August 5, 1909
“LUCKY BOY SUIT”
Richard Miner, who is attorney for the Southern Development Company of Nevada, in an interview today states that it is not the intention of his clients to embarrass or hinder the leasers who are working at Lucky Boy.
The company holds title to some of the ground at Lucky Boy under a patent over 20 years old, and they have offered to allow leasers to continue operations, deposit their royalties and wait for a decision of the courts as to the ownership. It is a case of equity and the proposition seems to be a fair one. - Bodie Miner.
The suit against the Southern Development company against certain mining claim holders in this district does not include any of the principal properties of the camp, nor even a part of them. - Lucky Boy Mining Record.
