“FUNERAL
SERVICES FOR FRANK CLOYD OF ANTELOPE VALLEY”
Funeral
services were held at the Community church Sunday, Jan. 6, for Frank
Cloyd, who was found dead in his car early last Thursday morning.
Cloyd had lived in Antelope valley several years and previously had
resided at the Fales Hot Springs for some time. He lived with Mr. And
Mrs. Jack Gillespie at the southern end of the valley. He had been in
poor health for several years.
His death was a great shock to his
many friends here.
He was a veteran of World War I and belonged to
the American Legion at Bridgeport. Funeral services were conducted by
the American Legion and the Marine Corps of Pickel Meadows. Rev. H.
Grant Harvey of Gardnerville, participated in the services. The
flag-draped casket, flagbearers and guard were surrounded by the many
beautiful floral tributes. Solos sung by Mervin Bryant were “The
Old Rugged Cross,” “Rock of Ages” and “Beautiful
Isle of Somewhere” with Miss Leah Martin as accompanist at the
piano. As cremation was Frank's wish, the final military services,
including the firing squad and taps were held in the yard at the
Church. The flag was presented to one of Frank's brothers. Two of
Frank's brothers and wives from southern California were present as
were several special friends from his home town.
