Scanner Frequencies

A list of frequencies that I have programmed into the scanner mounted in my truck, described elsewhere. Various frequencies are kept in separate banks, which can be switched off when traveling around my home area, which helps speed up the scan process by eliminating frequencies that are too far away to pick up. Such frequencies, such as HAM 2-Meter, are also kept in a separate bank, only used when traveling with those who have 2-Meter transceivers in their rigs.

This list contain only those frequencies that are currently programmed in. I haven't yet taken the time to weed out frequencies that carry control tones. I've also found that some valid voice frequencies in California are used to transmit control tones in Nevada and other locations, which can be quite irritating while traveling (similar to listening to incessant modem squeal).

Update May, 2008: I recently eliminated many frequencies listed here. I did this to speed up the scanning process because I had found that I missed much of the two-way dialog on the most active channels as the scanner would continue to scan through a lot of frequencies with little radio traffic or were too far away to be heard in my usual rounds. My list of frequencies now programmed into the scanner is below the first list, which I am keeping so that those searching for radio frequencies can still access valid channels that I no longer have programmed into my personal unit.

Update October, 2008: Since I moved to the Winnemucca, Nevada area, the radio frequencies in my scanner are likely now redundant (unless some agency or business here uses the same ones). I am currently researching the local radio reception and will program new channels into my scanner and will update the list. My original and second list will be kept here so that anyone interested in the hobby and lives or travels extensively in the Eastern Sierra can tune in.

Update June 18, 2009: At the bottom of the page is my scanner as it is currently programmed.
